05/07/2012  Akira Sekikawa, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology, was recently interviewed by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette concerning omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, and their effects on brain development and health maintenance. According to Sekikawa, the American Health Association recommends replacing saturated fat with a balance of these poly-unsaturated fats that cannot be efficiently generated in the body, and must come from dietary sources.... read more »11/14/2011 The University of Pittsburgh has appointed Jian-Min Yuan, MD, PhD, as the associate director for cancer control and population sciences and the leader of the Cancer Epidemiology, Prevention and Control Program at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.
